INDIVIDUAL ATTENTION

The school has a fixed upper limit on the number of students per section. Each class upto II has not more than 30 children per section and class III onwards not more than 35 children per section. This is to ensure that individual attention is given to each child.

HOME VISITS

An innovative feature of the school that requires the teacher to meet the child's family, once in a year, at his/her home. It is done in order to observe the child in his/her home environment. This enables the teacher to give appropriate inputs on study plans for each child keeping in mind the child's individual requirement. It helps the family in developing a bond with the school. It enables the child to see the home and school as an extension of each other.

FIXED MENU SYSTEM

A fixed menu chart that follows the recommendation of a qualified dietician is provided to all students in the school planner at the beginning of the session. This is to ensure that the child is eating a balanced diet and growing without fuss.

INCLUSIVE SCHOOL

We are an inclusive school. We accept children with special needs as per CBSE regulations. Admissions in this category are given only in class L.K.G.(one per section).

DOSSIERS

The school has embarked upon a program to maintain dossier for every student. Observations are recorded for every child, over the years, in the following areas, physical, cognitive, social and emotional development. This is handed over to the child when he/she leaves the school.

READING PROGRAMME

We at Eicher School follow a reading programme to inculcate reading habit in every child. Each class has a 'Class Library' in addition to the general library. Children are expected to read at least 5 titles in the academic session.

ACTIVE VOCABULARY PROGRAMME

A compulsory  'Active Vocabulary Programme' introduces new words every week to every class. Constant usage of each vocabulary word in multiple contexts familiarizes the children with the words over a week's time. This helps children to gain good spoken and written expression.

GUIDED WRITTEN HOMEWORK

Students of classes III to V are given an extra hour to understand/complete the home assignment for the day under the supervision of teachers.

THE BUDDY SYSTEM

A new student is introduced to a BUDDY or friend who helps the child acclimatize to the school environment and become familiar with the school norms and systems.

MENTOR SYSTEM

We have a mentor system in our school for the students of classes XI and XII. Students have the liberty to choose any teacher as their mentor. Newly appointed teachers are also given mentors from the teaching faculty so that they get abreast with the school systems and policies.

CAREER COUNSELLING

Regular career counselling sessions are organised for the students of classes IX - XII. It is important to provide proper guidance and updates on the course options available and the various conventional and off beat careers in today's job market. Professionals are invited to conduct workshops and interact with our children for the same.

EARN YOUR CREDIT POINTS

The child can claim credit points for any positive development (the teacher may have missed). Attributes of helpfulness, social responsibility and empathy will earn him credit points. If a child has done some community service, for instance teaching a poor child in the locality, planting a tree, has brought forth innovative ideas or has worked on improving his own performance, has been appreciated at any other forum outside school, he can claim recognition there of.

STUDENTS AND TEACHERS EXCHANGE PROGRAMME

The school is pursuing regular national and international exchange programmes for teachers and students. These programmes are being pursued with USA, Canada and France.

BUS DUTIES

Safety and security of children are given prime importance. To ensure safety of children in school buses, an escort teacher always travels with them to and from the school. The school also takes support from the parents in this initiative.

EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING

Children learn best through hands on experience and practical work, where most of their senses are engaged. The school has designed a curriculum with various experimental and experiential learning tasks, appropriate for every age and concept being done in the class.

** Also see curriculum design for different segments as special features.
