GAMES – PASTIMES FOR KIDS

We at Eicher are working on ISA project in which class KG and class II have been selected to do a detailed project on Games – Pastime for Kids.

Brief introduction of Games – Pastime for Kids -

Games are activities providing entertainment or amusement. Games also mean competitive activity in which players contend with each other according to a set of rules. Games help the players to set up goals. Players then adopt various tricks and techniques of correlation, coordination and manipulation to achieve the goals. Every game has a set of rules which has to be followed for the achievement of goals. This helps in sensitizing the players about their rights and responsibilities and also inculcates discipline along with competitiveness.

However, most important part of any and every game is that through fun, games are fulfilling our human motivations there by making us HAPPIER.

This project will focus on 3 major games played by kids in their leisure time in India, Japan & Africa i.e Ludo, Hopscotch & Marbles. Motive of this project will be to help the students of kindergarten to explore various games played in these 3 countries. The games will be showcased and demonstrated to the kids through audio visual mode in which they will get an insight to the details such as

  • the rules of the game,
  • number of players involved
  • time taken

Students will also play those games in groups on different days which will help them in gaining first-hand experience and organizing a garage workshop to create their own games. Through that workshop and online quiz, the kids will exchange their games with partner schools that will in turn give a little tweak to the rules of the game and craft a new game altogether.

Further, models of the games created by the kids will be displayed in an exhibition cum inter school competition. As a takeaway for the kids, a book of games will be designed with the inputs of kids.
