ENTREPRENEURSHIP FAIR

SRIJAN#SUSTAINABILITY-2018

To mark the Silver Jubilee celebrations, Eicher School organized an Entrepreneurship Fair - SRIJAN # SUSTAINABILITY on 30th December, 2018. This fair was an attempt to give a hand on training and experience to our children about entrepreneurship. This fair was an event in which every single member of the school was involved – students of classes pre nursery –XII, teachers, helper staff and parents.

Objective of Entrepreneurship:

We at Eicher School, Faridabad believe in developing global students by giving them hands on learning experience rather than conceptual learning experience within the walls of the classroom.

Keeping this in mind the Entrepreneur Fair revolved around four EEEEs:

  • EDUCATION
  • EATING
  • ENTERTAINMENT
  • ENVIRONMENT

Through this programme children have learnt and developed various skills such as,

  • cognitive skills – thinking, analyzing, work ethics, problem solving, spontaneity and risk taking.
  • creative skills and aesthetic skills – innovating and creating a novelty, art and craft, culinary, gaming.
  • soft skills – communication, negotiation, skills to value time, money and labour.
  • Physical skills – finger dexterity, dovetailing of tasks.

The process:

All the students, wing wise, were given brief talks in the assembly about entrepreneurship for several days. They were shown short clips on various successful entrepreneurs of our country and also across the globe. Students were told how start-ups may be converted to full-fledged entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurship could be any area – food, clothing, art & craft, biodiversity products, recycled products, redesigning of the products, reinventing products etc. products could be of utility or pure aesthetics. Time line was prepared for each of the steps so that no time was wasted and all the acitivities were carried out in proper sequence and on time.

Students and teachers started researching and exploring which area/ product they should take up for their entrepreneurship venture.

Thereafter, teachers and students mutually decided which area they would like to take up i.e planning, designing of the product, procurement of the raw material, production, packaging, costing/pricing, advertising, marketing and finally display and sale of the product.

Each class was given a loan from school as per the requirement of their product. This was purely on returnable basis. Loan amount was returned back to the school immediately after the sale. Checklists were provided

Throughout the tenure of the EM regular studies were carried out.

 15th to 24th  December, 2018 I to V period,
